Relaxation and mindfulness are important tools for mental health and wellbeing. They not only help us to de-stress, but can also give us a helpful space to put things into perspective. This workshop introduces some simple mindfulness and relaxation techniques, which can help to reduce muscle tension and lessen the impacts of stress and worry on your mind. You will also have the opportunity to make your very own sensory box so that you can have a little bit of mindfulness wherever you go!

Propel is partnering with headspace – the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds – to provide the option of a mental health relay service for young people during the KickstART Festival.
makespace is designed to provide mental health support for young people and to spark discussion about the mental health support that artists, particularly young and emerging artists, should have. With makespace, Propel and Headspace hope to create more awareness of mental health management procedures, and methods for ensuring a more responsible and caring arts sector for young people.

If you are aged 12-25 and would like support with mental health, physical or sexual health, alcohol and other drugs or education and employment support, you can chat with a headspace staff member during the makespace workshops and forums about accessing support.
