What's On
ACO2 Western Australian Tour 2/02/10 to 11/02/10
ACO2 is the precocious little sister of Australia’s finest orchestra, the Australian Chamber Orchestra. ACO2 connects talented young Australian musicians with the stars of the ACO, creating a combined ensemble with a fresh, energetic performance style.
English music is famously stirring and nostalgic, even when it’s written by Germans! This is your chance to hear some of the greatest examples with repertoire stretching from Handel’s vigorous Baroque to luscious Elgar, plus Smalley’s South American-style work written for the ACO.
- HANDEL Concerto Grosso Op.6, No.5
- HINDEMITH Trauermusik (Solo Viola: Stefanie Farrands)
- ELGAR Introduction and Allegro
- SMALLEY Footwork
- BRITTEN Variations on a theme of Frank Bridge
