ROBOTRONICS WORKSHOP 23/02/10 to 31/05/10

We don’t know anyone that wouldn’t want a robot- they can clean, cook, fight, and warn you of danger. So Propel have brought in Julian Stadon, Dorkbot extraordinaire, to make all of our robot dreams come true with the twentyten Robotronic workshops.

Build your robot from scratch and program it to do whatever you want. What you create is only limited to your imagination; maybe a combot, or your own R2-D2, or a maybe a Rosie Jetson-esque robot to clean your room!

Julian Stadon

Julian Stadon is the self confessed Perth Dorkbot Overlord of the international robot phenomenon Dorkbot and the guy to go for about bots. He has a Bachelor in Fine Arts and a Masters in Electronic Arts from the Curtin University of Technology. Julian’s a busy guy; he’s a Banff Liminal Screens Artist, a member of the Australian Centre for Virtual Art, and a Media Art Lecturer at Curtin and SAE in Perth. He recently completed an ANAT Emerging Artists Mentorship at Interface Culture Lab in Linz, Fogscreen in Helsinki and Salford University in Manchester. Phew! Must be all those robots he has running around doing his dirty work!

Participants must be available for all 3 workshops
