ZINE MAKING WORKSHOP 7/03/10
Want to learn how to make your very own zine? Over three hours, the highly acclaimed Perth Zine Collective will run through the vital skills needed to create a unique zine.
Definition of Zine: A zine (an abbreviation of the word fanzine, or magazine; pronounced /ˈziːn/ “zeen”) is most commonly a small circulation publication of original or appropriated texts and images. More broadly, the term encompasses any self-published work of minority interest usually reproduced via photocopier on a variety of colored paper stock.
Zine-ee things that will be included in the workshops include content, print layout, printing, distribution, editing and creative writing.
No prior zine experience is needed. This is a workshop where anything goes.
Perth Zine Collective
The Perth Zine Colective is dedicated to every publication hand-made, printed and quirky from Australia’s sweeping West…and the sweeping East, too. They stock zines and self-published books and distribute them via market stalls and a close-knit group of stores around Perth. The Collective are building up a library and are keen to meet anyone that creates their own zine.

All twentyten workshops are FREE for Propel Youth Arts WA members. If you’re not a member, don’t fret! Membership is free so join now
