What's On
FREE Fashion Design and Illustration Workshop 23/03/10 to 12/04/10
Explore the art of fashion from the best. In this 3-part workshop series, learn everything you need to create your own look. Learn fashion drawing from the resident illustrator at Aurelio Costarella, Pippa McManus, beginning with the basics and following with a live model session.
Then bring in that op-shop buy that’s been sitting in the back of your closet for months and learn how to transform it into a piece you’ll never want to take off. No prior experience is needed to attend these workshops, just a passion for fashion.
Participants must be available to attend all 3 workshops
About Pippa McManus
After Buying her first Paris Vogue at fourteen Pippa McManus dedicated all of her time to learning everything she could about the fashion industry. Pippa studied Fashion and Textile Design at the WA Art and Design school and participated in various design competitions, such as the WA Smales Fashion Design Awards, whilst a student. Pippa has painted with Stormie Mills, released her own label of custom-made, hand stitched bags and done work experience at Mannerist Design and i67. One of her current projects is Leon vs. Pippa, which is a collaboration with costume designer Leon Krasenstein and has led to exhibitions in Los Angeles at Scion Gallery, the Geisha Bar in Northbridge, and Sydney. Pippa is also the resident illustrator for Aurelio Costarella, which has given her the opportunity hold solo exhibitions, Ugly Celebrities (2009) and What Happened in the Tent… (2009). Her illustrations for Aurelio Costarella have also been published in the style bible, Women’s Wear Daily. Pippa is also doing work for WA pearl label Linneys and Subiaco fashion store Zara Bryson. She has plans to travel to Paris in September to attend fashion week and further pursue her illustrating career both there and in London.
