DOROTHY may have followed the yellow-brick road – but here’s a chance to walk to the beat of a different drum and take in the sights of an art gallery in the great outdoors.

Step out on the March 27-28 weekend for the fourth Artists on the Walkpath between Bardon Park, Maylands, and Banks Reserve, East Perth, on the Toni Di Scerni riverside path.

Temporary art work installations have been created by artists living in the eastern suburbs, responding to the local environment as their inspiration, as part of the City of Bayswater Autumn River Festival.

Bayswater Mayor Terry Kenyon said the project aimed to provide art for the enjoyment, surprise and interest of the community while promoting the visibility of artists in the area.

“This is another fantastic free event that allows people to enjoy a variety of art works beyond the confines of a gallery,” he said.

“All the artists have ensured their art works don’t harm the environment and have made them totally temporary in nature.”

A range of professional artists, arts workers, emerging artists and art students are involved in the event, including;

  • Jo Darbyshire
  • Zoe Carter
  • Gabby Mazalevski
  • Richard Fouldes
  • John Greeuw
  • Chris Reimer
  • Rebecca Sheardown
  • Josie Flynn
  • Eva Fernandez
  • Helena Bogucki
  • Giovanni DiDio and;
  • Melissa Hurd
