Supported by the Foundation for Young Australians for three years, Amplifier has officially wrapped up it’s first year maiden voyage!
With 32 presenters involved over the 8 Amplifier arts business training events, participants learnt from arts professionals and practitioners in areas like Grant Writing, Marketing, Business Planning, Tax advice, Arts Law – along with exploring ideas on survival in the arts, working in and forming creative collectives and space issues within Perth.
The fruits of Amplifier have already been evident from the opportunities and contacts made from the program – with exhibition openings, funding received and collaborations between participants formed in the wake of Amplifier 2009.
Stay tuned to Propel’s Amplifier pages for footage of the Arts Survival forum (featuring comedian Lawrence Leung) and The Space Issue forum (featuring Marcus Westbury from Renew Newcastle), along with a short summary of Amplifier in 2009.
To register your interest and be the first to hear about programming for Amplifier in 2010, download and shoot through an Expression of Interest form which is available at the Propel website. On this you can let us know what local or national creative professionals you’d like to meet, along with what you’d like to learn to further your arts business practice to help us meet the needs .

A big thanks to all of our Amplifier presenters, venues, volunteers, along with the young professionals involved in filming and photography.
