Wanted - passionate and creative people! 6/11/09
by Matthew McVeigh
Calling passionate, creative young people wanting to be involved in a really fun event.
Remida is a new non profit organisation that operates as a material, informative and expressive resource for arts, education and environmental projects in WA. Remida supplies reusable materials to artists, schools and community groups.
November 19th 2009 is Remida Day, an annual event celebrating the idea of reuse and recycled art. This year we plan to explore the idea of reuse by creating a large installation piece with 100 people. We are inviting you to come down with your friends for a day filled with fun and make a really bold art piece with other like minded and creative participants.
What’s involved?
- Participants of all ages and walks of life are invited to come along to REmida from 9.30am – 4.30pm on Thursday November 19th.
- All participants will be provided with snack food and a Remida t-shirt.
- As well as creating a large installation from recycled material you will also have the opportunity to work on a 15 metre Reptile Puppet with professional artists and be involved in a large scavenger hunt with you, your friends and the other hordes of participants.
- We will scour up and down the streets of Perth searching for valuable industrial discards, bringing businesses on board to create more recycled resources and opportunities for future community art projects.
Where is it?
- REmida is located at 1 Prospect Place, West Perth WA. It is situated opposite the CIA studios between Prospect Place and Newcastle Street.
- Enter from the laneway opposite City Motors (the carpark in front of Westone) on Newcastle Street near cnr of Newcastle & Charles St or enter the laneway from Prospect Place.
Remida Day is proudly supported by Healthway to promote the Drug Aware message.
