Elementz Hip Hip Program in Mandurah

Are you a young person interested in hip hop, break dance, urban art or DJ-ing? Then come along to the new Elementz Hip Hop Program run by the City of Mandurah.

Participants will gain skills through the free workshop series by professional artists, all inspired by the elements of hip hop culture.

Young people aged 12-25 years old are invited to join in the final break dance workshop for term three on September 1. The workshop will be faciliated by Brendan Burns aka B-Boy Beast.

Brendan brings over 15 years teaching experience to the workshop and is a member of the Zou Rock Crew, a well-established internationally-known crew. Brendan has developed his own unique breakin’ syllabi and teaches the fundamentals of breakin’ and hip hop all over WA and at some of Perth’s best dance and performance schools.

Local Mandurah artist Craig Bond will lead the Elementz’ urban art workshops on August 18 and September 8. The skilled urban artist has been involved in many iconic local murals including at the Billy Bowler Skate Park, the Monkey Bar, and Billy Dower Youth Centre.

Elementz also features DJ workshops taught by guest DJs on August 25 and September 15.

The free Elementz program is on every Tuesday at Billy Dower Youth Centre from 4pm to 6pm.
