Tell Us - Are you more than your marks? 1/02/10

by The Foundation for Young Australians

While governments across Australia are re-thinking how students’ success at school should be measured, Tell Us asks young people what they think.

Adam Smith, CEO at The Foundation for Young Australians, says,
“Success in school should mean more than simplistic test scores on numeracy or literacy. It should mean creativity, confidence, community involvement, caring for others, and developing a love of learning.”

Students across Australia will have the opportunity to complete a short survey and creatively speak up using anything from video, artwork or photos.

Winning entries will receive prizes including education and training opportunities.

The results of the nation survey will be released publicly to parents, teachers, education agencies and policy makers and will be presented to Federal and State and Territory governments.

All Australian secondary students aged 13-19 years can take part in the survey from now until Fri 30 April. Visit the Tell Us website for more information.
