Seeking Expressions of Interest to join JUMP Selection Panel 16/02/10

As the peak body for youth arts in WA, Propel Youth Arts WA is proud to be an Inaugural State Delivery Partner of the JUMP National Mentoring Program for Young and Emerging Artists.

Propel is now calling for expressions of interest from members of the WA arts industry who believe they have the experience, perspective and passion necessary to sit on the 2010 WA JUMP Selection Panel.

JUMP is the first national mentoring program funded by the Australia Council for the Arts that supports the career development of young and emerging artist across all artforms. JUMP identifies excellence in artistic practice and promotes young and emerging artists who demonstrate commitment and drive in becoming the next generation of arts leaders .

Successful applicants receive funding of up to $5,000 for a creative project to be achieved through a one-on-one relationship with their chosen mentor. The program also provides access to professional skills development, online profiling, showcasing of project outcomes and opportunities to engage with national artistic networks.

In 2010, eight mentorship places of up to 10-months are available for Western Australian artists aged 18 to 30 and in the first five years of their professional practice. More mentorships will be available in 2011 and 2012.

The Selection Panel will be required to review all applications privately from 8 to 22 March and will be required to meet in person on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 March between 9am and 3.30pm. Selection Panel members will be paid a total of $150 including GST for their time.
