Do you want a fringe festival in Perth? 4/03/10
Artrage has been working behind the scenes on the idea of starting a Perth Fringe for awhile. Do you want it? What do you want it to be?
The response to Perth Fringe so far has been super-positive and there’s already a lot of support to the idea including the big thumbs up from PIAF.
Our plan is no more Artrage Festival in October, all focus on a Perth Fringe in February, starting a week before PIAF then running concurrent, there’s more info on this in the resource pages.
We’re putting forward some ideas that we think will work for Perth and compiled some useful resources and links so you can go deeper into world-wide Fringe world whilst you’re thinking about a Perth Fringe for the future.
We’ve had the site up for a week now and had lots of visitors, lots of voters, and a small number of great contributions to the discussion.
Keep it up and don’t be a fence-sitting spectator. We’re taking this input seriously.
There are a swag of WA artists over at the Adelaide Fringe right now. We’re looking forward to them trickling back to Perth over the next few weeks and sharing their impressions. In the meantime www.talkfringe.com.au/index.php is a great place to get some insight into the buzz happening on the streets of the Adelaide Fringe right now.
Everyone that registers and votes before this series of discussion closes on 22 March puts themselves in the running for a VIP Launch Party Pack for them and their friends to the NEW ARTRAGE VENUE later in the year including a *$500 bar card *that can be used any time in the year. Oh Yeah!
