Young People Getting a Good Wrap – Online Blog

An online project by the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition for National Youth Week 2010

Young people too often get a bad wrap in the media and the community. But we know that young people around the country and the dedicated workers who support them are doing fantastic things that need to be recognised.
 
In the lead up to National Youth Week 2010 (being held from the 10th -18th of April) the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition are calling on young people, youth workers, youth services and community members to send in their positive messages about young people and the youth sector.

Young People Getting a Good Wrap is an opportunity for young people, youth workers, youth services and community members to share positive messages about young people and the youth sector. This project is run by the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition Australia’s, National Peak Body for young people and the sector that supports them.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

  • All you need to do is take a photo of yourself holding a positive message about young people or a message about what your service contributes to the Australian community.
  • It’s that easy, make sure your message is clearly legible and feel free to send us some information about yourself to be included on the blog! 
  • When your done email it through to policy@ayac.org.au for uploading! 
  • If you are under the age of 15 and wish to participate you will need parental consent please contact Craig Comrie to be emailed a form policy@ayac.org.au

3 x $100 PRIZES TO WIN

  • The Australian Youth Affairs Coalition will be giving away 3 x $100 voucher prizes as part of this project.
  • Winners will be chosen randomly and will receive their prizes during National Youth Week 2010.
  • This is not just for young people and youth workers it’s for everyone! Encourage friends, co-workers, family members, politicians, pretty much anyone – to get involved and share their positive messages about young people.

Photos will be added progressively in the lead up to National Youth Week and all your positive message will be sent to the Federal Minister for Youth, Hon Kate Ellis. Take a few minutes to participate in the exciting project, and help young people and the youth sector get a better wrap in the community and in the media!
