Vacancy at Southern Edge Arts 31/03/10

Southern Edge Arts is looking for an inspired and exceptional individual to join the company as its General Manager, working closely with the Artistic Director to lead regional WA’s foremost performing arts organization for young people.

Southern Edge Arts delivers an annual workshop program (including drama, circus, dance and music) and a range of original performances and presentations with 5 to 25 year olds throughout Albany and the Great Southern region of Western Australia.

Southern Edge Arts champions creativity and the expression of imagination in young people through stimulating performing arts experiences and opportunities, involving young people in all aspects of the creative process. The underlying philosophy of Southern Edge Arts is one of inclusiveness and involvement, to engage and inspire young people through the Performing Arts.

In 2010 Southern Edge Arts celebrates 25 years of inspiring the imagination!

The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and communication skills, proven experience in managing financial activity, aptitude and experience in managing the day-to-day requirements of an organization in respect to administration and operations, outstanding organizational, planning and self-management skills, and an ability to work collaboratively in a small team to achieve the goals of the organization.

Southern Edge Arts structure currently includes the Artistic Director/CEO (FT), General Manager (FT) and Project Manager (FT), a bookkeeper, and 10 casual workshop trainers.

The General Manager position is a full-time appointment and reports to the Artistic Director/CEO and the SEA Board of Management.
