Future Shorts Australian Launch - Event Management Volunteer Jobs 14/04/10

This is fresh cinema, Future Shorts.

We will be launching with an expanded cinema red carpet event in June which will have a heavy local entertainment industry and national media attention as well as estimated audience of 300+. The launch will include high profiled local artists including circus performers, dancers, VJs and live music. After the launch we hope to continue with smaller scaled monthly screenings located in the City of Perth.

Future Shorts has three volunteer positions available, perfect for arts students or emerging career pactioners to gain experience and build their CVs by working with the world’s leading short film label. All position are overseen and assisted by the Event Manager and are design for a valuable learning experience (ie not demanding or stressful) and will be guided and supported throughout the whole. Previous experience is useful but not needed. Written reference and photo journal will be provide after the event.

Volunteer Jobs

Marketing Officer
Assist the Event Manager with all marketing and publicly which will include:

  • Writing press releases
  • Communicating with media, radio, street press etc
  • Increase social media profile
  • Assist with poster and flyer drops
  • 10 – 15 hours per a week increasing to event lead up

Event Manager Assistant

  • Assisting with sponsorship and VIP guests
  • Organising catering and drinks for VIPs
  • Guest list management
  • Assist with poster and flyer drops
  • General PA duties
  • 10 – 15 hours per a week increasing to event lead up

Technical Manager

  • Central communication link between venue, artist and management
  • Help with bump in/out duties
  • Source any hire materials needed
  • Ensure smooth running of event
  • Assist with poster and flyer drops
  • 5-10 hours per a week increasing to event lead up
