Create! Propel Youth Arts Award finalists announced 28/04/10
Propel is very excited to announce the finalists of the Create! Propel Youth Arts Award for excellence in the arts.
The award celebrates the achievements of young people’s contribution to the community across a range of art forms including drama, music, visual arts, writing, debating and arts management.
Congratulations to the Create! Propel Youth Arts Award finalists:
- Kaitlyn Seymour (18, of Albany), for making art more accessible to regional youth, particularly those at-risk
- Isabel Inkster-Hughes (16, of Mount Claremont), for her work with the United National Youth Association of WA and her artistic pursuits
- Jeremiah Wordsworth (22, of Mirrabooka) for encouraging the integration of young refugees into the WA community through art and art therapy
- Ika Jumali (17, of Riverton) for her use of art to encourage young people to participate in their community
Each category winner receives $2,000 and a trophy designed by Kartika Ahmad and one of these will also be named WA Young Person of the Year and receive return flights for two to a European destination, courtesy of Singapore Airlines and the Department for Communities’ Office for Youth.
Winners will be announced at the WA Youth Awards gala ceremony on Friday, July 16.
