Be a part of the 2010 Melbourne Fringe Festival 28/04/10
Exploring the future of live arts and the role audiences play in its development, Visible City is the keynote project of the 2010 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Melbourne Fringe invites Australian and New Zealand artists working in hybrid, interdisciplinary and live art practices to apply. Those selected will live and work in a communal space called the ‘house’ for the Melbourne Fringe Festival, 22 September – 10 October 2010.
Artists will respond to a series of provocations, and create live art works throughout the Festival that interact with the Melbourne cityscape. You will be asked to work quickly, use initiative and intuition, and to create work that is urgent, needed and connected to the present. Artists will work solo or collaboratively with others selected for the project.
This project is developed, curated and produced by Melbourne Fringe as part of the Made by Melbourne Fringe program.
Visible City is supported by the Inter-Arts office and the Theatre Board of the Australia Council for the Arts, and by City of Melbourne’s Late Night Programming Initiative.
