Vacancy at WASO 25/06/10
The West Australian Symphony Orchestra has a vacancy available for a Functions and Events Coordinator.
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Corporate Development, the Functions and Events Coordinator is responsible for the efficient planning and organisation of WASO’s functions and non-concert events including corporate functions, Private Giving functions, student lounges and launches.
To be successful in this role, candidates will require:
- Exceptional organisational and administrative skills. Able to work to deadlines, multi-task and demonstrate effective time management. Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills supported by well developed oral and written skills and high personal presentation.
- Ideally two years experience in a relevant field, in particular in the area of function and events management.
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours through a flexitime arrangement. Ability to work Friday and/or Saturday nights will be required.
- Demonstrated understanding of customer service at the highest level. Maintenance of a flexible approach and positive contribution to a team environment, with a willingness to provide relevant service to all internal and external customers.
- An understanding of basic financial principles, including a demonstrated experience in financial control, project research, gathering of statistical data, quotes and costs management.
- Sound knowledge and ability of use of PC bases and software applications.
- An interest in symphonic music and/or the performing arts is useful.
This is a part-time position (3 days a week) with night work (an additional 1 night a week during concert seasons). The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as practicable.
