Federal Election Arts Policies 17/08/10
For those of you voting in this weekends Federal Election, you may be interested in the Arts Policy Statements from the Australian Labour Party, the Liberal Party and the Australian Greens, collected by the National Association for the Visual Arts.
NAVA approached the politicians from the three major parties who have responsibility for the arts, and asked them to answer a set of arts policy questions they felt were of particular interest to the visual arts, craft and design sector.
The questions covered:
- National Cultural Policy
- The Visual Arts and Craft Strategy
- Design and Innovation
- Indigenous Art
- Visual Education
- Artist Support
The politicians asked were Peter Garrett (Minister of the Arts, ALP), Steven Ciobo (Shadow Arts Minister, Liberal Party), and Christine Milne (Australian Greens).
