twentyten + 1 is a series of hands-on arts workshops for creative 12-25 year olds. Run by professional artists – these contemporary workshops are designed to give you creative skills with a difference!

The twentyten + 1 program continues from the successful twentyten workshop series. The ongoing series is packed with workshops a little left of centre designed to get you exploring new and different mediums and practices.

STEAMPUNK SIDESHOW

Roll up, roll up! We need young people as set and costume designers, artistic directors, actors and stage managers for the Steampunk Sideshow!

A Tim Burton inspired wonderland, Steampunk Sideshow will blow you mind with a larger-than-life Victorian castle made from scrap metal and salvaged treasures, pop-up puppet performances and coin-operated gizmos.

Construction
Take on the role of artistic director or set designer to turn treasures from the scrap-heap into a sideshow alley and castle of steampunk aesthetic with artists Lewis Horne.

Performance
Fancy yourself as the Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice or Sweeny Todd? Director Marisa Garreffa will work with you to perfect your performance style and explore puppetry with a Tim Burton twist. Step right up!

The the Steampunk Sideshow will be also be showcased at the Beaufort Street Festival 2011!
