Create soundscapes by sampling the sounds of native fauna and insects, and using hydrophones to play water like a musical instrument. Listen to the sounds of life found in the Swan Coastal Plain, paying close attention to the biophonies – the natural biological music – of our wetlands and rivers. Mei Saraswati and Tessa Darcey (Akioka) are self-taught musicians who incorporate field recordings into their own work. They’ll encourage play and experimentation with emphasis on their own musical processes.
