It is not uncommon for people to feel uncertain about themselves at times, but if we get into the habit of thinking negatively our sense of self-worth or self-esteem can be significantly impacted. This workshop looks at the different factors that could be impacting on your self-confidence, such as self-talk and body image, and promotes ways of establishing a more positive relationship with yourself through self-acceptance and self-care.
WHEN: Friday 21 April, 12.00 – 2.00pm
WHERE: Community Room, Northbridge Piazza
Propel is partnering with headspace – the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds – to provide the option of a mental health relay service for young people during the KickstART Festival.
makespace is designed to provide mental health support for young people and to spark discussion about the mental health support that artists, particularly young and emerging artists, should have. With makespace, Propel and Headspace hope to create more awareness of mental health management procedures, and methods for ensuring a more responsible and caring arts sector for young people.
headspace assists young people aged 12-25 and their families who are going through a tough time. If you are aged 12-25 and would like support with mental health, physical or sexual health, alcohol and other drugs or education and employment support, you can chat with a headspace staff member during the makespace workshops and forums about accessing support. You can also visit headspace.org.au to find your nearest centre. For online and telephone support, go to eheadspace.org.au.
