About the musicians
Fraeya is a 19-year-old songwriter currently residing in Fremantle, WA. After spending 2018 playing solo shows around Perth and steadily gathering a following throughout the city, in late June last year Fraeya launched her explosive four-piece band. Since then the powerhouse band has created waves throughout the Perth music scene, supporting the likes of Stella Donnelly, Peter Bibby and the Kill Devil Hills.
Sakidasumi (Umairah Murtaza) is a singer-songwriter and artist based in Perth, Australia. Her sounds are inspired by a mix of neo-soul, avant-pop, experimental, contemporary R&B and alternative.
“Her experimental vibes were highlighted at this show and I was taken back by her presence alone. She had a real ethnic flavour to her sound, a real groove master with a twisted funk/soulful element. She has you flowing along on her wave and it felt like meditation. But at the same time, you can’t help but move your body along to her beats and tones." - Mia Hyde, Mysteria Maxima Magazine.
Nika Mo makes the Perth mundane sound somewhat poetic. Melancholy folk meets suburban backyard storytelling, delivered with stunning vocal harmonies and gut-wrenchingly honest lyrics.
Jacob Wylde has been compared to Stevie Wonder by no one. His music is a lot less groovy, he was not a child prodigy, he cannot play every instrument flawlessly, and he has pretty good vision. In spite of this, some people still like his music.
Bass Lemon are an emerging young band famous around Fremantle for their fusion of a funk-rock sound with powerful and empowering lyrics. Inspired by the likes of Bill Withers, Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse, they've been together since their first year of high school. Bass Lemon were a hit at Nannup Festival this year and Fairbridge Festival last year, where they will be returning later this month.
Post Depression Makeout Session was born between a cluster of class mates who quickly became best friends, housemates and bandmates. Blending psych aesthetics with prog and R&B, their sound reflects the music that inspires them to experiment.
Grunge-pop band FLOSSY, fronted by sisters Lauren and Sinead O'Hara, have been taking audiences by storm over the past two years with their energetic live shows. After the release of their debut EP in 2018, the WAM Nominated band supported national acts Luca Brasi, Gyroscope, Jebediah, WAAX and Good Doogs as well as international bands such as Tigers Jaw (US), Radio Moscow (US) and Big Country (UK). FLOSSY released their new single 'Holiday' early this year, followed by their second headline tour over east, playing shows in Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne and St Kilda Festival.
