Still Here LGBTQIA+ Lab: Open Studio

  • Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts 51 James Street Perth, WA, 6000 Australia (map)
Still Here

Explore the processes and works-in-progress of the Still Here LGBTQIA+ Lab participants.

Still Here is a lab which amplifies the visibility of LGBTQIA+ artists in Western Australia, and in 2019 offered developmental opportunities for six emerging practitioners: Aisyah Aaqil Sumito, Ethan Matthew Blackburn, James McMillan, Noemie Huttner-Koros, Patrick Gunasekera, and Sam Nerida.

Still Here offers an opportunity to interrogate what it means to be queer and make art. Through introspection and provocation, participants have been encouraged to create their own artistic responses to their experiences, which will be displayed in this studio and discussed during Artist Talks on Wednesday 17 April.

PICA is open from 10am until 5pm, Tuesday - Sunday.

When: Saturday 13 - Saturday 20 April, 10am - 5pm
Where: Education Room, PICA
