Community Arts Network's Lotterywest Story Street is a series of creative storytelling projects for and by multicultural communities in the Cities of Canning, Stirling and Wanneroo.
As part of Lotterywest Story Street, CAN is establishing a traveling community library with stories, videos, and artworks from many different local multicultural communities. This library will contain significant cultural histories and media created by and for multicultural communities, and various creative resources to give people the ability to tell their own stories, and to speak of their cultural histories. Come along and add your own story to this ongoing project of cultural expression!
At CAN we use arts and creativity to grow resilient communities. We are both a community development and an arts organisation and this is what makes us unique and strong. CAN has been operating in WA for over 30 years.
Our three core functions are:
To produce inspiring art with diverse communities
To build connections and broker opportunities for artists and communities
To build the capacity of artists, communities and partners.
