Cinderella appears before The Fairytale Tribunal because she has broken the rules by refusing to marry Prince Charming and fleeing her story. Mayhem and hilarity reign as Cinderella's tale unfolds and her fate is decided. Order is disrupted and fairytales are smashed to smithereens. Will anyone live happily ever after?
The Broken Slipper was originally written by Yvette Wall as a flash drama in 2011 and performed with an all female cast of four. In The 2014, Yvette revisited the piece and added Prince Charming, giving it a new one-act status.
Through the dramatic antics of these wonderful fairytale characters, who are more than familiar to us all, this work touches on the struggle between 'keeping it real' and 'playing the part' Like them, we all want to 'live happily ever after' but at what price? What is our story and who writes it for us?
