This workshop is about committing to your photography as more than just a hobby; but as a part of your daily life and identity. Nirrimi Firebrace is an inspirational young creative, photographer and writer at fireandjoy.com. Guided by her personal experiences, Nirrimi will demonstrate ways you can find your own style, create productive habits, plan projects, and share your work. It’s about taking your dreams seriously. Not someday, right now.
Taking a killer picture of someone harder than you thought? Tasha has got you covered! Tasha Tong-Faye is a creative portrait, fashion and fine art photographer and has some serious experience in portraiture photography. With her guidance and help from a couple models, Tasha will take you around Northbridge to show you what to look for when taking a standout portrait shot whilst using some of the best urban backdrops Perth has to offer.
On Saturday 22 September 2018, Propel Youth Arts WA once again invites you to join us in documenting 24 hours of life in Western Australia directly through your eyes! Every year, hundreds of people across WA simultaneously step behind their cameras to capture and submit an image from their day to Mosaic, a community-driven photography project and exhibition.
Why should networking be awkward and boring? As part of the MOSAIC Project, Propel Youth Arts WA is inviting you to our first ever young creatives picnic. Hosted by our jack of all trades and Propel legend Zal Kanga-Parabia, you will be able to chat to some of Zal’s friends in Perth’s professional and emerging photographer community. Meet like-minded people and make new friends as you chat about all things photography over a lovely picnic spread in the sun.
Been imaging the Milky Way? Maybe some planets, stars or constellations through a lens or telescope? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with photographer and space enthusiast Zal Kanga-Parabia to use the LCO, a global, research grade telescope network to image and learn about space. Using archived images of planets and the galaxy, participants will learn editing techniques and how these images are used for vital research.
