Are you an emerging artist and interested in an opportunity to provide the creative direction for a large-scale festival for young people?

That's right Propel Youth Arts WA is again on the hunt for a Creative Coordinator for the 2019 Youth Week WA KickstART Festival. We are looking for someone who is passionate about youth arts, has excellent networks within the WA arts industry and is not afraid of a challenge.

This role has been developed with the intent of providing an emerging Western Australian artist to provide the creative programming impetus and artistic direction for the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival in 2019.

Tapping into their established industry networks and creative experience, the Creative Coordinator (CC) will consult with the Youth Week WA Planning Committee and Propel Youth Arts WA, to develop a theme, format and key activities for Youth Week WA – including free workshops, forums, KickstART Festival Day and other special events – that are inclusive, accessible and engage young people aged 12 - 26.

Throughout their engagement with Propel, the CC will work closely with the Project Development Officer (PDO), who will manage key administration duties and produce the events of WA Youth Week, along with the Executive Director (ED), Operations Manager (OM), interns, volunteers, and partner organisations.

Youth Week WA (formerly National Youth Week WA), is an annual statewide celebration of the positive contributions of young people to our community throughout Western Australia. The Youth Week WA KickstART Festival offers young people aged 12 - 26 an extensive range of free workshops, talks, performances, and special events, in April 2019 (exact dates TBC).

Your application for the role of Creative Coordinator should include:

  • Cover Letter stating your interest and responding to the Selection Criteria outlined in the application pack (max. 2 pages).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) including contact details, relevant experience, education, and two referees.

Email your application to or post to:

  • PERTH WA 6849

Applications must be received before 5.00pm on Wednesday 15 August 2018. Late applications will not be considered.

The panel will assess all applications received and invite shortlisted applicants to attend an interview. The successful applicant will be notified by telephone and sent a written offer of appointment, with the position commencing in September 2018. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email.
