The Story Horse - call for submissions

KSP Writers' Centre is looking for horse-related short stories and poems from members and people who live within the Shire of Mundaring. Selected stories will be transferred to a make-shift ‘horse’ and displayed at the Habit of Horses Open Day at Mundaring Hall on Saturday 20 August 2017. 

To be included in KSP's Story Horse display, please email your submission as an attachment to kspf@iinet.net.au (subject line: Story Horse project) before 21 July 2017, using the guidelines below:

  • Include your full name and genre of work in the email
  • If you are under 18, please also indicate your age
  • Ensure submitted work is polished and features an engaging story about horses or a particular horse, ideally located in the local Perth hills area of Western Australia
  • One submission per person
  • You have the option to also include no more than two images that relate to your story/poem, attached as .JPG or PNG files and labelled with appropriate description
  • Attach your submission in .DOC or .DOCX format only
  • No more than 800 words for prose or one page for poetry
  • Arial 12 point font, 1.5 spacing

KSP are also seeking any donations of horse related material they can borrow or use, such as a hay bale, saddle or horseshoes. To express interest, please contact Shannon on 08 9294 1872 or kspf@iinet.net.au
