The Sketchbook Project is a collaborative and visual experience that provides an opportunity for young people to share their own personal stories and passions with the wider community across Western Australia.
Each year, Propel sends hundreds of sketchbooks to participants across our vast State, ready to be cut, painted and inked, filled with designs, stories and drawings from young people who want to share their stories.
All completed sketchbooks are displayed in the State Library of Western Australia as part of the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival.
After the Festival, the sketchbooks embark on a tour of regional and suburban libraries, sharing our young people's stories in an ongoing event called The Travelling Sketchbook Exhibition.
Registrations are now CLOSED for the 2018 Sketchbook Project!
Propel Youth Arts WA invited over 500 young people, aged 12-26, from across Western Australia, to participate in the 2018 Sketchbook Project
From DaVinci, to Dickinson, to Hemmingway, to Kahlo, sketchbooks have provided a space for the greatest works and stories of our time to grow.
The sky is the limit and the young people who participate are free to express themselves in their own unique ways, no artistic experience necessary!
The Sketchbook Project is presented by Propel Youth Arts WA in partnership with State Library of Western Australia as part of the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival, which is proudly supported by the State Government of Western Australia.
This year's exhibition will commence on Friday 13 April in the State Library of WA main foyer.
